Adam Dunn is an Associate Professor in the Centre for Health Informatics at Macquarie University, working on applications of machine learning, information retrieval, text mining, and network science in clinical medicine and public health. His research includes clinical research informatics, building new methods and tools to identify and mitigate the effects of biases and financial conflicts of interest in clinical trials and systematic reviews; and public health informatics, developing new methods to measure the ways in which information exposure can be mined from social media data to predict attitudes and health behaviours, and creating new tools to reduce the spread of misinformation to support an evidence-informed public.
Adam has been an investigator on projects funded by the NHMRC and AHRQ; is an Associate Editor of BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making and Research Integrity and Peer Review; an Editorial Board member for JAMIA Open, and spends much of his time supporting postgraduate and early-career researchers.
