BSc, PhD (UWA)

Adam is a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Health Informatics in the Australian Institute of Health Innovation at Macquarie University. Application domains span the analysis of biases in clinical trial research, diffusion of innovation over social networks, and modelling workflow processes in hospitals. Prior to moving into health informatics in 2009, he developed spatial modelling methods in landscape ecology, and wildfire spread.

Adam has a background in data science and medical informatics, and a record of research translating network science and machine learning methods to address complex problems in clinical medicine and health services. He spends a lot of his time learning about how clinical evidence is produced, aggregated, and distorted as it makes its way from clinical trials (and large sets of electronic medical records) into the routine practice of clinicians and the broader population.

Broad Research Areas:

Clinical Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Computational Epidemiology

Specific Research Keywords:

Data Science, Network Science, Machine Learning, Research Integrity, Systematic Review
